This Privacy Policy explains how PermitPulse LLC (“PermitPulse,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the PermitPulse website and services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

Information we collect

• Account information. Your email address, name (if provided), a securely hashed password, and your timezone.
• Service data.The saved searches (“alerts/watches”) and preferences you create, and records of the digest emails we send you.
• Payment information. If you purchase a paid plan, payments are processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card number; we receive limited billing details and subscription status.
• Usage and device data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) and privacy-preserving analytics. We use your approximate location only at request time to tailor the feed and do not store it.
• Cookies. We use essential, first-party cookies required to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell your information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To send the alert digests and account/transactional emails you request.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions.
• To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
• To respond to your support requests.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it. These currently include:

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Mailtrap — outbound email delivery.
• Vercel — application hosting and analytics.
• Cloudflare — DNS and inbound email routing.
• Our database and infrastructure providers.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of PermitPulse, our users, or others. If we undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Permit data shown in the Service is derived from public records published by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ); it is public information, not information about you.

Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account at any time.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (including under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and similar state laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to appeal a denied request. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. To exercise any right, email us at the address below; we will not discriminate against you for doing so.

You can manage or turn off your alerts at any time from your account, and you can update account details from your settings.

Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for businesses and professionals and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated by email.
